Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone who lives here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Hägersten-Älvsjö is one of 11 district administrations in the City of Stockholm with approximately 3,000 employees. Today, we are one of the city's largest districts with about 130,000 residents. In Hägersten-Älvsjö, you are close to the city, public transport, and nature. We offer a dynamic workplace with opportunities for you to develop in your role.
Welcome to us
Hägersten-Älvsjö Group and Service Housing is looking for support pedagogues (special educators). This is a new role established to strengthen the pedagogical work and develop methodology within the operations. Here, you will have the opportunity to work in an expanding and development-oriented operation where you are part of a team characterized by high competence and a strong focus on quality. The workplace is located at one of the district's group or service housing facilities.
What we offer
As a monthly employee, you have the opportunity for holiday exchange and a wellness allowance. You are offered the chance to purchase training passes for Stockholm City's swimming pools, gyms, and fitness facilities at favorable rates. In addition, as an employee of the City of Stockholm, you currently have discounts at several other gyms and fitness facilities. The salary range for this position is 31,000 - 38,000 SEK.
Your role
As a support pedagogue, you have overall responsibility for the pedagogical method development at the unit and ensure that the pedagogical work is conducted systematically. At the same time, you are part of the close-to-practice work where you collaborate with the rest of the team to provide users with support in their daily lives based on their wishes and needs. We work from the users' homes and accompany them to, for example, medical appointments and leisure activities. We have a continuous effort to increase the users' influence over the support and services we provide.
The duties include:
- developing methods for documentation, mapping, and action plans
- supporting and supervising colleagues in work methodology and pedagogy
- spreading knowledge on how work with clarifying pedagogy can be designed
- inspiring and ensuring together with supervisors that evidence-based methods are used to increase quality in the operation
- contributing to building up cognitive support for the users
You report to the unit manager and are part of the unit's network for support pedagogues, which holds regular meetings. Your position is divided into approximately 20 percent for planning and leading the pedagogical work and 80 percent regular work in group or service housing. Working hours are during the day, evenings, and weekends, and in some operations, sleeping on-call duty.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for you who have:
- post-secondary specialization in the disability area comprising at least 200 YH (vocational higher education) credits, alternatively 60 university credits in pedagogy or disability studies, or a combination thereof
- at least two years of experience working with people with intellectual disabilities
- experience with documentation
- knowledge of LSS (The Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments)
- knowledge of low-arousal approach (low-affective handling)
- good knowledge of the Swedish language as well as good ability to communicate orally and in writing
Merits for the position:
- further education in neuropsychiatric disabilities
- Health and Social Care Program, Child and Youth Program, or alternatively other education that the employer deems equivalent
- previous experience of leading and/or supervising others
We are looking for you who have a strong commitment and interest in working with the target group in our operations. You have good cooperation skills, enjoy working in a team while also being able to work independently and take initiative. As a person, you are creative, solution-oriented, and have the courage to try new ways of working. Furthermore, you are a secure and pedagogical person who can inspire and build trust among both employees and users.
We will place great emphasis on personal suitability, commitment, and motivation for the position. If you recognize yourself in the description above, you are warmly welcome to apply!
The recruitment for these positions is open during the summer, and interviews will begin in late August.
The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at assessing each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.
